Lockheed Martin UK Information Systems & Global Services (IS&GS) has created CIVET as an automated, near-realtime software capability to provide Link-16 message decode and analysis down to bit level.
Its primary function is to automatically detect, identify and summarise inconsistencies between the messages transmitted by Tactical Data-link (TDL) platforms and the message standard on which each platform's implementation is based. The analysis summary may then be used to target and refine off-line analysis activities.
CIVET can either be sent all J series messages received by another system/tool together with the slot number and time stamp or directly monitor the communication databus between a host system and Multi Functional Information Distribution System (MIDS) / Joint Tactical Information Distribution System (JTIDS) terminal.
CIVET is a Microsoft Windows based software application designed to be hosted on a laptop (for easy portability) or desktop PC.
